In the video below, Penny Lane Printing presents a brief comparison of the tabloid (11″ x 17″) vs. magazine (8.5″ x 11″) format used for various publications. Notice that the magazine format is considerably easier to read due to its smaller size and binding. This format also permits the use of bleeds which enable graphics to be printed to the edge of the paper, creating more room for copy. Lastly, the life of a magazine is considerably greater to that of a tabloid, in the home.

The Drama Student Magazine began its journey into print this week. Editor Phil Matthews (pictured left above) took a trip to the printing factory to witness the birth of this exciting new journal.
