Canon pixma mp610 vs epson rx580? For cd printing and photo printing? Which is better?
And have you seen the prints side by side, or are you just guessing?
I have seen both prints but not side by side, with the experience I have and the knowledge of the Epson printer and I don’t want to put the printer down because it does print an awsome picture, my problem is not with the quality of the pictures it is with the design of the printer, if this printer sits for say 3 months with no use say over a summer when your at the cottage for example now you come home and you expect the printer to print the quality it does and during the time it sat the ink had dried in your case with the Epson the print head, I have 20 years of every September I call it Epson month, I get flooded with e mails and calls, all I say is kick it to the curb, once the Epson sits for this period of time the ink dries in the print head it never comes out, I have tried 100 times to solve this problem with some strong chemicals, even talked to Epson about it, I can replace the print head and when I asked how much and they told me I could not believe it cost more than the printer, I love Epson every September I make $$$, the Canon if you let it sit 6 months you can get the cartridges going in 10 to 15 minutes, so my answer is I would always take the Canon. Hope that helped and good luck.

How to Print Directly on a DVD w/ an Epson Printer
Have you ever wanted to have professional looking labels on your CDs & DVDs? Kerry Decker takes you on a basic tour & clears away the mystery in this How-To for ink jet printing.
This tutorial covers Epson’s R280, R380, R800, R1800 & the Photo 1400 ink jet printers. Others may work as well. The software is Epson’s “Print CD Ver 1.31a”
I found this process gives professional results over traditional sticky labels that can later peel or the laser-etch method which is good for B&W text only. I hope this will get you started printing nice labels on white printable DVDs & CDs.
